  • The MTA Central Isotope Committee is established

    The discovery of radioactivity also aroused great interest in Hungary. An experimental (2 MW) nuclear reactor was started up in March 1959 at the Central Institute of Physics in Csillebérc, and the possibility of artificially producing radioactive isotopes in Hungary was opened up.

  • Establishment of the IZINTA commercial subsidiary

    In the 1980s, Izinta was set up as a separate division, and by then it had more than 50 employees, dealing with the commercialisation of isotopes.

  • Since the 1980s

    The loss of local isotope production was compensated by imports and the launch of new activities. At the same time, the marketing of radiopharmaceuticals began.

  • Foundation of Izinta Ltd.

    After the 1980s, Izinta became an independent organisation, and in 1993 Izinta Ltd. was founded.

  • Urea

    Izinta Ltd. registered one of its own products, 13-C Urea tablets, as a medicinal product, which is still marketed today. It is a sputum test for the detection of H.Pylori.

  • Transport and escort of radioactive materials

    Over the years, we have continuously expanded our business, bringing innovative solutions and useful and usable products to the Hungarian market. We undertake the transport of radioactive materials for domestic companies and escort the transit of our foreign partners through Hungary in accordance with the legal requirements.

  • 2000s - New areas

    In the early 2000s, we opened up to new areas. The research and human diagnostics divisions were established.The research division of Izinta Ltd. covers the complete range of chemical and consumables needs of cell and molecular biology laboratories as well as small-scale pharmaceuticals. We represent renowned foreign suppliers in our country.

  • Creation of the human therapy business

    The business was created with the aim of making available therapeutic procedures that did not exist in Hungary before. We have brought innovative solutions to Hungary. Among others we have been involved in the first microwave thermoablation tumour treatment and varicose veins and haemorrhoids treatment in Hungary.

    This business took over the distribution of certain instruments, such as our surgical gamma probes and brachytherapy.

  • Creation of a pharmaceutical business

    In recent years, we have opened up to the general public, expanding our product range to include medical devices and medical aids available to all. From 2020, we are reaching consumers directly with our retail products, available in pharmacies. As the first covid test distributor, we were the fastest to bring home self-testing to the Hungarian population.

Izinta IVD Ltd.

In 2020, Izinta founded Izinta IVD, a company for the distribution of In Vitro Diagnostic devices, and now operates as a group.
